Without a doubt, Apex Legends cross-progression is the most requested feature in the history of the game, and has been since the shooter's release.

It's been such a hot topic over the years that players have slowly accepted that cross-progression may never arrive in the Outlands.

Well, a leak has provided the community with a glimmer of hope that Respawn could introduce cross-progression very soon, potentially even in the next seasonal update.

Apex Legends leak hints cross-progression is coming soon

Taking to Twitter on June 26, reliable leaker HYPERMYST revealed that Apex Legends cross-progression UI codes have been added to files.

While this certainly isn't the devs directly confirming the feature is coming, changes in the files are usually an indication that Respawn is planning on adding something very soon.

In HYPERMYST's opinion, this means cross-progression "should be arriving soon," but it's important you take this leak with a pinch of salt until the devs make an official announcement.

Either way, this is extremely exciting news for the community, which has been desperate for this feature for a long time.

Will you be able to merge your accounts in Apex Legends?

It's important to remember that Apex Legends cross-progression doesn't necessarily mean that you'll be able to merge your accounts. So, if you have items on a PlayStation account and various cosmetics on a PC account, cross-progression may not mean you can combine your accounts together.

Instead, it just means you'll be able to log onto your PlayStation account on another platform and vice versa. Another reliable Apex leaker called Osvaldatore took to Twitter to warn players not to get their "hopes up for account merging btw."

So, it's looking unlikely that Apex Legends cross-progression will allow you to combine two accounts together, which will be disappointing news for some players. However, the flexibility to use one account across multiple platforms is still incredibly useful.
