It seems that Modern Warfare 3 can't catch a break as bugs continue to plague the game. This comes in spite of the developer's best efforts to send in the pest crew and distract the die-hard fans with new and explosive content.

Recently, Sledgehammer was forced to release an abrupt hotfix for MW3, which had been plagued by a reload glitch. It subsequently patched over some of the other cracks with a brand-new LTM mode.

But, the new mode Arcade hasn't quite been the kick-back-and-relax type of gameplay that you might expected from that name. Instead, it has sent semi-auto shotgun RPG hybrids into Ranked Play.

Much like the Supe'd Up playlist, Arcade has arrived in Modern Warfare 3 to offer a completely unique way of playing - revolving around having powered-up guns on a standard moshpit playlist.

The mode includes four new weapon variants, all designed to cause complete chaos as if they had been pack-a-punched.

The weapons are:

  • Punch Knife with increased lunge distance
  • MORS Sniper Rifle with explosive projectile rounds
  • Riveter with explosive projectile rounds
  • Minigun with Battle Rage equipped

Arcade is only here for a limited time, so make sure to catch it before time runs out. Or, head to MW3 Ranked, which Arcade has completely broken.

Sigh. With Arcade working on a moshpit playlist that includes Hardpoint, it now looks like the mode has infected Ranked. Multiple players are reporting games where super-powered weapons have been added.

The competitive playlist also reportedly has UAVs and Advanced UAVs enabled thanks to the Arcade bug, which is usually restricted.

To be fair, Ranked has gotten somewhat tedious, so maybe players can learn to enjoy this buff while they can.
