The Tesla Cannon is a brand new weapon added to Fallout 4 as part of the next-gen update and you can get it by completing a new quest, Best of Three.

This guide will show you each step of the quest and what you need to do to get your hands on this fancy new electric weapon in the game. You'll have to do quite a bit of trekking across the Glowing Sea, so you'll need to know where to go.

If you'd like help with any of the other new quests in the latest Fallout 4 update, we've got guides below:

How to start Best of Three quest in Fallout 4

To start the Best of Three quest, all you need to do is download the next-gen update for Fallout 4. This is the latest update to the game following the release of the Fallout show.

Once you've downloaded the update, simply check out your list of quests and it should be there. Select the quest to start tracking it and you'll see the first quest marker you'll need to visit in the bottom left of the map.

Essentially, this quest is all about going from one dead Gunner to another and getting information from each of them.

Head to the first Gunner after listening to the distress call via the Radio in your Pip Boy. You'll discover a Gunner Holotape, and you can connect your Pip Boy to the Gunner to learn new coordinates.

Head to the new coordinates in the Glowing Sea. You'll need to head down into a church, which can only be accessed through the tower portion as the rest of the church is covered by terrain. Deal with the ghouls inside then grab the next set of coordinates from the Gunner corpse. There's also a safe key on the ground next to them.

Follow these new coordinates to another Gunner, this time by a radio tower. Download the data from the dead Gunner here too, but be careful not to get killed by Bloatflys.

After dealing with them, you'll be able to listen to the Gunner Signal Remnant to get new directions. You'll be able to track how close you are to the new coordinates using the percentage that will pop up, so head in whichever direction it sends you. You'll end up near a crashed plane, and you'll find the final dead Gunner inside.

The villainous Caroni will show up, equipped with the Tesla Cannon, and you'll have to kill him to get it. He's not a hard enemy, but his weapon is pretty strong. Deal with him however you see fit, then loot his body.

He'll have the Tesla Cannon on him, which you can grab and use yourself!
