There’s an assortment of animals in LEGO Fortnite that each produces unique resources for you to use in the game, but you might also be asking the question of whether or not you can breed them.

While some animals are best avoided, most are friendly and, with the right treatment, may just come in clutch when creating recipes or crafting unique items. Having plenty around is bound to come in handy, so here's all you need to know.

Can you breed animals?

At the time of writing, no, you cannot breed animals in LEGO Fortnite. There are plenty of animals found out in the wild, so once you’ve established your village, it may be worth creating a pen of sorts to hold all your animals in.

As of an update that was released on April 23, 2024, you can now tame animals to recruit them to your farm, making it much easier to house them and gather the resources they produce.

With this new feature, you can use food to tame various animals and then build barns for them to live in.

What do animals do in LEGO Fortnite?

While you can certainly kill most animals for crafting items and food resources in LEGO Fortnite, I find that the taming feature makes keeping them around much more useful now, as you can consistently get resources from them.

Alongside enemy animals like wolves and spiders, there are plenty of friendly animals that will provide you with unique resources, as shown in the image above.

For example, by petting cows, you’ll get a carton of milk, chickens will give you eggs, and various sheep will provide you with different types of wool.
