A Stellar Blade PC port would be great news for any player who wants to try Shift Up's hit action-adventure game outside of PS5.

However, there are a few key facts I need to highlight first. So, let's dive into not just the idea of a PC port, but versions on PS4 & Xbox too.

Will Stellar Blade be on PC?

There's no announcement for Stellar Blade coming to PC at the time of writing, this would likely be the next version of the game to come out, if not the only platform outside of PS5.

Although speculatory at this point, a PC port is the only version of Stellar Blade that hasn't been ruled out on the FAQ within the game's official PlayStation page - with its exact wording "Stellar Blade is a PlayStation 5 console exclusive", rather than being an exclusive on all platforms entirely.

Since Stellar Blade is published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, it fits under the ongoing trend of the company later launching console exclusives on PC platforms like Steam or Epic Game Store. This follows suit with those like Marvel's Spider-Man (2018) & Miles Morales, Ghost of Tsushima, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Horizon Forbidden West

Although PC ports of PlayStation exclusives have had long lead times in the past, the publisher has made a point saying it would like to be more aggressive and speed things up to increase their player base far quicker.

However, optimising even a PS5 game for PC can take considerable time - just like what I found when looking into Final Fantasy 16 on PC. Be that as it may, I'll update this part of the guide as well if any news pops up.

What about PS4?

No, Stellar Blade will not be coming to PS4 as it's a current-gen console exclusive on PS5 - with no last-gen ports for the game currently announced, as it was also confirmed on the FAQ on the official PlayStation page mentioned above.

Although Stellar Blade was initially set for a multi-platform last-gen release back when it was announced as Project EVE in April 2019; on PS4, Xbox One, and PC; the game was shifted to be only on the PS5 when it re-emerged a couple of years later on PlayStation's September 2021 Showcase

Whilst we can't ever completely rule out a PS4 version coming out in the future, the likelihood with PS5 exclusives becomes smaller over time, as doing so usually means technologically compromising the game to the point where some - if not a lot - of its evolved technical appeal is lost.

What's more, since Stellar Blade went from originally being planned for PS4 to changing course for just launching on the PlayStation 5, this means that its compatibility with the game as it currently has likely already been considered and ruled out.

Nevertheless, if anything does change, I'll update this guide as soon as I know more.

What about Stellar Blade on Xbox?

There are not only no plans for an Xbox version of Stellar Blade, but out of the three platforms on this list, Microsoft's consoles are the least likely of all to get release of the game.

Due to being published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, essentially funding the production and launch of the Stellar Blade, it's almost certain that the company will keep a tight lid on it. From a business perspective, it would make sense to keep the title solely in the PlayStation ecosystem when it comes to consoles.

Even if the Xbox Series X|S would be a technologically suitable home for Stellar Blade than PS4, Sony will almost surely want to keep it for themselves.
