Call of Duty: Warzone has got its problems for certain, but one that's got fans worried is its relentless integration. Combining elements now from Modern Warfare, Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard, with the now-confirmed Modern Warfare 2 also expected to join the party, the game is going to get incredibly muddy.
Fans are now calling for change to Call of Duty - something to clear the pipes and start over. Maybe even a new game could fix these problems, while bringing the battle royale favourite up in quality to meet the new-gen console standards. Well, good news…
Is Warzone 2 In The Works?
As announced by a Bloomberg report into Call of Duty's future following Xbox's purchase of Activision Blizzard, a new Modern Warfare game is coming this year, and in an exciting turn, a follow-up to Call of Duty: Warzone is officially in the works right now. Better yet, it's currently set for release next year.
Little is known about the sequel to the game, but thanks to the report, we know that it's officially on the horizon and will likely fix a lot of problems the main game has. This is much to the glee of the consistent Reddit complainers.
This is huge news, and could change Warzone forever - all while leaving the game behind in the dust.
What Could Change In Warzone 2?
It's expected that the newest Warzone will do away with a lot of the mainline game integration, or at least reset it, to begin with whatever Call of Duty title is coming in 2023.
The game is likely to be exclusive to new-gen consoles, so upgrade soon if you want to stay at the party. Beyond that, we don't know much about the upcoming battle royale sequel. We'll have to wait until the promotional cycle for Call of Duty 2023 to see what the game has in store.
A new Warzone game could be incredibly exciting, and we're interested to see what the future holds for the battle royale. Warzone could be about to change forever, and we say, it's about time.
