Blood and bouquets might not sound like they go hand in hand, but if the latest leaks are anything to believe, Behaviour Interactive could be working on a Dead by Daylight dating sim. That's right, you can open up your heart to Hellraiser's Pinhead - just before he rips it out.

Helping define the asymmetrical horror genre in 2016, Dead by Daylight originally flew under the radar as an indie game where you either play a hardened survivor or a sadistic serial killer. Over the years, Dead by Daylight has continued to grab headlines and grow its fan base thanks to adding pop culture favourites from the world of horror

What Is The Dead By Daylight Dating Sim?

The Twitter account DBDLeaks has found a trademark for something called Hooked On You: A Dead By Daylight Dating Sim. Although it looks like a legitimate trademark, we're still unsure what it's for. Most gamers have settled on the idea of a DBD dating sim.

It appears to have been registered on February 16 - which fits with the Valentine's Day theme. Then again, others think this is an elaborate April Fool's joke. We'll admit that horror and dating aren't usual bedfellows. Seeing the ongoing hype for DbD and buzz about the upcoming Ringu crossover, expanding the franchise makes perfect financial sense.

Responding to the trademark on Reddit, one person wrote, "Welp, time for me to spend questionable hours on questionable things." Another added, "Feels like an April Fools joke, but come to be Daddy Shirtless Myers." Even though some aren't convinced, others think it's just out-there enough to work.

When Will We Know About The DBD Dating Sim?

Dead by Daylight's sixth anniversary is fast approaching (June 14), and with it, fans are expecting some suitably massive announcements. Although most are holding out for the long-hoped arrival of Pennywise the Dancing Clown, the reveal of a DBD dating sim would be an equally massive win. Either way, this isn't the first we've heard of a spin-off/expansion.

Last year, a fan survey asked fans where they'd like to see the licensed characters head next, with everything from dating sim to brawler to racing game being posed. If you think having Michael Myers or Freddy Krueger swooning over you sounds like the wildest dating sim idea out there, always remember there was a KFC dating sim that saw you send Colonel Sanders' pulse racing.
