Patience is wearing thin in the Call of Duty community as Modern Warfare 2 has stuttered with Season 4 Reloaded, Warzone 2 is neither here nor there as the recent divisive The Boys collaboration has been riddled with performance issues, and Modern Warfare 3 is nowhere to be seen.

Having reportedly backtracked from becoming a two-year Call of Duty, Modern Warfare 2 is now set to end this year and be preceded by a third entry in the reboot trilogy.

But after radio silence on the matter of the next Call of Duty, it seems like Modern Warfare 3 is being introduced to the world by an in-game Warzone event coming very soon.

Modern Warfare 3's live reveal is on the way

Leaks have been on the rise in recent weeks, with Operators such as Graves being discussed to be added alongside some rather wacky hip-hop skins of Nicki Minaj and 21 Savage.

Now though, it seems like there is set to be an in-game event named "Reveal" to occur on Al Mazrah, which can only point towards the curtain pull on Modern Warfare 3.

According to leaker "heyimalaix", it "seems like a reveal event will happen in Al Mazrah (DMZ?) in S5", with the event internally dubbed "Reveal".

This comes just a few weeks after the first look at Modern Warfare 3 was leaked too, indicating that development must be taking shape pretty well.

The leaker indicated that Season 5 would be the catalyst for the in-game reveal too, which kicks off on August 9.

Call of Duty is heading back to live event reveals

It wouldn't be the first time that a Call of Duty game was revealed through another title too.

Previously, both Black Ops Cold War and Vanguard were revealed through in-game events, with the former being a fabled and typically Treyarch Easter Egg hunt across Verdansk, and the latter being a much more interactive experience for all players as Caldera was introduced with World War 2 references abound.

As to the details of the event, that's yet to be seen, although if it is anything like those we've had in years gone by, it should be quite the blast.
