FromSoftware
It's been seven years since we first woke up on the operating table in Yharnam, and as Skyrim has proved time and again, more than enough time has passed for Bloodborne to deserve its own blood transfusion.
FromSoftware is keeping itself busy with a little game you might've heard of called Elden Ring, but while we wait for some sort of Elden Ring DLC, it's reminded us why the developer is so good at creating games. It's not every day you have a whole genre (Souls-like) named after your games. We've heard a lot about a Bloodborne remake, and although it's been dismissed, the rumours are back.
Can FromSoftware Create A Bloodborne Remake For PS5?
According to a report from Digital Foundry, creating a new-gen Bloodborne remaster shouldn't be as hard as you think. The site refers to "inconsistent frame-pacing" that has plagued PS4 games, and even at 30 new frames per second, it looks like stuttering with a much lower performance.
Jailbroken PS4s have patches to fix these with relative ease, so why is FromSoft so behind the curse of fixing Bloodborne itself? If this is one of the big things holding back a PS5 Bloodborne, you'd think that tinkering with a simple bit of code would be well worth the money to get us on the way to a true new-gen remake.
Despite the PS5 being able to run far beyond 30fps, the fact FromSoft locked it at this means that no matter how souped-up the console, Bloodborne is always going to be stuck in its PS4 form. The good news is that if the devs can't be bothered to go back and unlock the base game, could it be because it's saving everything for a proper PS5 Bloodborne remake?
Are We Getting A Bloodborne Remake?
Last-gen FromSoft games are sadly behind the times for now, but with (unscrupulous) PlayStation patches for everything from Dark Souls 3 and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, you aren't left with a stuttering mess if you know how. Patches are all well and good, but where's our Bloodborne remake on a par with The Last of Us Part I coming to PS5 later this year?
By now, you've all heard about the beloved Bloodborne Demake, but sadly, it's not worked the other way... yet. Former IGN journalist Colin Moriarty recently said that we haven't heard the last of Bloodborne, which got us excitedly looking at a potential sequel, but to be honest, a PS5 Bloodborne remake makes a lot more sense. Even though a fake account pretending to be leaker Nibellion fooled us all into thinking one was in the works, it sounds like the lifeblood has been drained of all those Bloodborne remake rumours.
