While Apex Legends Season 17 has certainly had its highs with the addition of Ballistic, the Firing Range overhaul, and the weapon mastery system, it definitely hasn't been perfect.

One of the biggest criticisms against Respawn has been the recent state of Ranked and the numerous problems facing the competitive mode. A particularly serious problem has been how easy it has been for players to climb the high ranks.

One example is pro player Christopher "sweetdreams" Sexton reaching Pred while dealing no damage to opponents. Now, popular streamer Brandon "Aceu" Winn has returned to the game and slammed Apex's "foul" Ranked distribution after seeing how many layers are in Masters.

Aceu calls out Apex Legends' "foul" Ranked distribution

During a recent stream where Aceu had decided to return to Apex Legends, a member of his Twitch chat told him to look at the current Ranked distribution in Season 17.

After doing so, Aceu saw that 19% of players are in the Masters tier, which was completely unheard of in previous seasons. The popular content creator took a jab at the devs, arguing, "How do you look at this and like think this is alright that literally everyone is in the second highest rank in the game."

In his opinion, the Ranked system has become "foul" and is something Respawn needs to fix in Season 18. However, with the devs attempting to address the issues multiple times now, it's obvious a lot of the community is losing hope.

Will Respawn improve Apex Legends Ranked in Season 18?

Apex Legends Ranked

In a recently posted thread on the Apex Legends subreddit, Apex dev RSPN_exgeniar confirmed that the community "can definitely expect changes next season." While no specific changes were discussed by the team, it does prove that Respawn is determined to address the problems in Season 17.

Let's hope the devs can perfect the competitive mode in the next major update, and hopefully, provide players with the ultimate environment to test their skills on the battlefield. Either way, it's clear something has to change if the game's biggest names are slamming it as "foul."
