Ahead of the Black Ops 6 Beta later this August, Activision uploaded the game to the back end of the PlayStation 4 store to testing its online capabilities - despite being on old-gen consoles.

However, this resulted in arguably the biggest leak of Call of Duty information ever, as dataminers were able to access the title with jailbroken consoles. Now, Activision has hit back, although it might be more damage limitation than a sucker punch.

Activision takes down Black Ops 6 after major spill

With the Black Ops 6 leaks coming thick and fast, Activision has worked its lawyers overtime as DMCA strikes have been fired off like an RPK with Double-Tap.

The leaks have even been modded as hackers have already skirted around anti-cheat software to give themselves low-gravity flying abilities via the new omnimovement.

But Activision has now removed Black Ops 6 from the PlayStation 4 store, putting an end to any hackers who are looking to get their hands on more of the Beta.

Although leaks are fun and entertaining to read, this might be bad news for fans as Black Ops 6 shapes up to be one of the most elaborate Call of Duty games ever.

Activision's back-end build being infiltrated might be deterring the developers from having strenuous online server tests, which could make the Black Ops 6 Beta rocky before its release.

Leakers with the files downloaded can still reportedly access the game, but Activision's updates between now and the Beta will likely be kept a secret. Maybe there will be a few surprises in store.

Thankfully for Activision, it only uploaded the Beta that features multiplayer, rather than the full game, which could have seen the entire Campaign and Zombies get leaked.
