The already topsy-turvy world of Alan Wake is about to get even kookier, as Summer Game Fest just revealed Alan Wake 2's Night Springs expansion. Max Payne himself was on hand to make the announcement, as Sam Lake delivered the news with all his usual gusto.
Alan Wake 2's Night Springs expansions gets shadow drop
Split into three parts with three familiar characters from the Wakeverse and beyond, Lake promised a series of what-if adventures in Bright Falls. Accompanied by a rocking soundtrack, we got our first look at Night Springs, which makes your standard Alan Wake adventure look like a dull day at the office.
The best part about Night Springs is that it's coming soon...very soon. Lake confirmed the long-mooted DLC is getting a shadow drop in less than 24 hours, meaning it's going live on June 8.
Remedy had already hinted at Night Springs with a social rebrand, so news of an expansion isn't exactly a surprise. Still, we'll take all the Alan Wake we can get - hopefully helping the sequel make its money back. Also, if Night Springs is a hit, our hopes of Alan Wake 3 just got a little more promising.
