The Apex Legends esports scene is coming hot off the back of the most thrilling event in recent history, as the World Cup in Saudi Arabia highlighted just how incredible the match-point system can be.

But now, stakes are increasing, pulses are rising, and Nessie is sweating. It's all as the ALGS returns for the Split 2 Playoffs.

Ahead of the Playoffs, Respawn Entertainment has announced that fans will be front and centre as the ALGS returns to Europe, as onsite audiences will be able to participate in a range of different activations while watching a creator show match on Straight Shot.

ALGS Split 2 Playoffs to be kicked off with a fan Tailgate and Straight Shot Creator Showdown

With ALGS stepping up to the plate, four days of elite Apex Legends action will be on full display at the SAP Arena in Mannheim, Germany. Better yet, it's led by an impressive talent lineup boasting hosts Evan "Raynday" Raynr and Lauren "GlitterXplosion" Laracuente, as well as player-analyst Eric "Snip3down" Wrona.

The action will kick off with a live POI draft in which teams in both groups will be marking down where they want to land in the respective heats. After days of jostling for a place in the final round on Sunday, players will be blowing off a bit of steam prior to the map one kick-off - mixing with fans in Apex's first Tailgate.

Here, players will be joining fans in the arena in meet and greets, while there will be an area where attending fans can all drop into the battle arena together or joust on Straight Shot.

The latter mode will be making a return in Season 22 and will also be on full display as the Creator Showdown sees groups of streamers and Apex Legends personalities duke it out on the main stage as a curtain raiser for the Grand Finals.

ALGS Split 2 Playoffs to feature Nessie hunt, freeplay stations, and more

For fans on-site, the action doesn't stop at the pure cinema on-screen, as there will be a string of activations to participate in.

Your usual arcade-like games, such as claw machines, will join sponsor booths, fan art displays, photo booths, merchandise stalls, and a site-wide Nessie hunt.

The ALGS Split 2 Playoffs will start on August 29, where the likes of DarkZero and Team Falcons will be looking to get the better of Reject Winnity and Alliance as the respective winners of Spilt 1 and the Esports World Cup.
