All MW2 Hidden Remastered Map Easter Eggs

There are quite a few Easter Eggs that you may not have noticed when playing Modern Warfare 2, but don't worry, we've got them all here.

The Call of Duty franchise loves a good Easter Egg. Although they are normally left up to Treyarch to use in the zombies game mode, there are many more subtle references to popular culture in Modern Warfare 2.

For instance, there is a Breaking Bad-inspired van on the Santa Sena Border Crossing multiplayer map, featuring the same five bullet holes that we see after Jesse and Heisenberg were shot at.

However, there are also some awesome classic Call of Duty references hidden in Modern Warfare 2, and although the devs have been keen to remaster some of the iconic maps, there are actually three remastered maps that serve as Easter Eggs within the game.

3 - Rust (MW2 2009)

The 1v1 playground where men and women are made. Having been a map that has shed more skins than a snake, Rust hasn't actually made it as a fully-functioning map in the new MW2 game. But it's still there.

Deep into the Taraq Ground War map, Rust's design can be found around the B domination flag. Even though it doesn't feature the signature ramp, the structure and ladders persist. Get your throwing knives out.

Weirdly enough, this isn't the first subtle Rust Easter egg too, as it also featured as a gimmick on the outskirts of the Compound map in Advanced Warfare.

2 - Neuville (Call of Duty 2003)

Now, this is what you call an Easter Egg. Unless you've played every single Call of Duty, then this will be scarcely recognisable, but for the class of '03, this is right up your street.

Taraq is possibly one of the most disliked maps in Modern Warfare 2, but has earned back some brownie points in its favour after it was found to be a complete remaster of the Neuville map from Call of Duty 1 (2003).

The first design was a more rural design in fields rather than an Iraq-based desert, but the layout remains identical and playing this map after knowing the origin changes you're perception of it quite significantly.

1 - Pavlov's House (Call of Duty 2003)

The first map we were shown before Modern Warfare 2's release was Farm 18, with the developers being proud of the Shoot House-esque map design.

However, not all of Farm 18 is new to the Call of Duty franchise. In fact, the three-story building (dormitory) on the Eastern side of the map is an exact replica of Pavlov's house from the original Call of Duty title's campaign.

Old-school players will remember locking this house down and fending off waves of enemies with an MG42 and MP44 in hand.

There are some other subtle Easter eggs on the Warzone map, but it's expected that the likes of Quarry and Highrise will soon come as Modern Warfare 2 maps too.
