A new game based on the Terminator franchise is on the way, and it looks like a terrifying experience as the T-800 gets an open-world survival game.

The video-game tie-in game is a lost art, to be perfectly honest. Though we get a few Alien and Predator oddities every once in a while, the games that come with new films on the horizon are pretty much packed up after their widespread financial losses.

It's a shame because the trend has turned out some absolute bangers over the years. But now, it has transformed into a trend that will often produce nostalgia-tinged action titles. And now, a new one is on the way in the form of an open-world Terminator game - though it looks anything but generic.

What Is The New Terminator Game?

At Nacon Connect - a gaming conference that the entire world seemed to forget was happening - the company dropped some whopping reveals in spite of those who didn't tune in. And one of them is going to be a real treat for fans of their '80s action.

A brand-new Terminator survival game is currently in the works, that saw a new teaser reveal at the conference. In gritty style, it was showing off one of the merciless robots on the hunt for players.

The game doesn't have a title just yet, with the YouTube republishing of the trailer being simply headlined "Terminator Survival Project." There's clearly much left to see from it - but either way, the idea of ducking T-800s sounds deliciously frightening. But that's not all when it comes to new '80s films getting new video games.

Robocop: Rogue City Coming In 2023

A new gameplay trailer has also dropped for a new game based on the Robocop series. It also reveals that the game will be launching in June 2023. The sci-fi title features the reprise of Peter Weller in the role of Robocop, and it looks incredibly violent.

We may be in a golden age of '80s nostalgia, with these games and Stranger Things still dominating pop culture. Alongside Aliens: Dark Descent trying to recapture the nostalgia of James Cameron's 1986 classic, we're very here for it. A lot of these have already crossed over in the likes of Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone, but we'll have to wait and see whether they can stand on their own. Can we get a Working Girl game next? Weekend at Bernie's, maybe?
