We always knew this day would come. The potential of an Apex Legends TV series is just too great to pass up on, and finally, those at the top have finally teased that one could be on the way. Well, not directly, but let's have a little fun.

While Electronic Arts might not quite have the gravitas of Activision Blizzard's Call of Duty or Overwatch in terms of IPs, let's remember it has a firm grip on everything from Battlefield to The Sims, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, to Apex Legends. Out of all of these, one sticks out from the crowd with TV series potential.

Is An Apex Legends TV Series On The Way?

During EA's quarterly financial earnings call, Chief Executive Officer Andrew Wilson discussed expanding the publisher's biggest franchises. Here, he said that video game IPs are some of the most "culturally relevant" in the entire entertainment industry.

Teasing the potential of TV adaptations, Wilson confirmed EA is "looking at any and all aspects that allow them to expand and their brands for their fanbase, but they’re doing it very thoughtfully and as part of their strategy of doing it profitably." Even though he doesn't directly mention Apex, you'd be foolish to think he's not at least mulling it over.

Last year, Respawn Director of Community and Communications Ryan K. Rigney was asked about the possibility of an Apex Netflix series and left us with a cryptic response. In December, Producer Tim Lewinson shared a video of the Arcane: League of Legends intro but swapped it out for Apex characters and added, "I have some conversations to follow up on come January."

Why We Need An Apex Legends TV Series?

You only have to look at the ongoing success of the game to see an Apex Legends TV series makes pure financial sense. In the same call, it was revealed that the hero shooter added 28 million new players in 2021. Apex Legends season 12 is just around the corner, and let's be honest, Mad Maggie seems like she's made for TV.

Looking at the bigger picture, an Apex series could also be the perfect starting point for one of those cinematic universes people love so much. Namely, an Apex series could nicely queue up the long-rumoured Titanfall movie. If nothing else, it could finally spur Titanfall 3 into production. Although a live-action Apex series could work, we're betting EA would go down the animated Arcane route.
