Looting is a fundamental part of the battle royale experience, and that's certainly no different in Apex Legends.
Diving down onto the map and scrambling to find a weapon is part of the chaotic fun, as well as slowly improving your guns with new attachments throughout a match.
However, some fans believe Apex's loot pool is getting a little too crowded and have suggested cutting one specific item. Rather than looting the white backpack, they believe it should become default straight out of the dropship.
Apex Legends players want the white backpack removed from loot pool
Taking to the Apex Legends subreddit, user SbeveGobs decided to argue that Respawn should "remove the white backpack from the item pool and make it a spawn item."
This would mean instead of having to scavenge for one, players would just arrive on the map with more item space. Not finding a backpack in the early game can be extremely frustrating, and this would eliminate this problem.
"Yeah at this point anything that can lighten the load as far as loot," said one user, with another arguing "Wouldn't even need it to be an item, just remove it and up default storage space by 2, anything to clear up loot and pave the way for a new weapon."
Ultimately, fans also believe that having more space at the start of the game would make matches significantly more fun - especially during the intense rush for guns just after a drop.
Other Apex fans argue it's "lazy" and are "not on board"
For some, though, removing the backpack is just another example of "lazy" players wanting more advantages. It could, therefore, diminish the overall BR experience.
"The challenges of playing with a small inventory and scavenging for better loot are a core part of the game. Stop trying to remove what makes the game interesting because you're impatient and lazy," said one user, with another arguing, "Usually I'm all for stuff like this ... but for some reason, I'm not on board."
This topic has divided the fanbase and with a vocal group of players heavily against this change, you have to wonder whether the devs will ever consider it - we'll have to wait and see.
