When most players think of iconic Apex Legends characters, they most likely think of Wraith. The Interdimensional Skirmisher has been a fan-favourite since release, regularly sitting in the top three most popular Legends all year round.
With an invulnerability Tactical and an Ultimate that's top-tier for rotations, Wraith is undeniably strong, but it's her Passive where she falls slightly short.
Voices from the Void is meant to alert Wraith when an enemy is looking at her, but it often comes a little late. This results in a sniper shot to the head, just for the voice to tell you that you're being aimed at.
Apex Legends fans argue Wraith Passive is completely broken
Taking to the Apex Legends subreddit, user Knight-112 decided to show that Wraith's Passive simply "doesn't work" the majority of the time.
In the first clip, Knight is beamed down by a set of opponents, and Voices from the Void fails to trigger, leaving them no time to react to the gunfire. In the second example, the voice calls out that traps are nearby after Knight is already taking damage from a Gas Trap.
This isn't an isolated issue. Numerous Wraith mains in the thread make it clear that the Passive is inconsistent, so it's impossible to rely on it during a rotation or skirmish.
"Happens to me all the time just before it kicks in I get shot, dropped her because of that and fully focused on Giby again," said one user, with another claiming, "Funny people expect the Passive to work when the audio doesn't work half the time."
Wraith mains call for a Passive rework in Apex Legends
Some Apex Legends players believe Voices from the Void is "easily the worst Passive in the game" and desperately needs to be reworked.
In their opinion, the clips of her Passive failing repeatedly demonstrate "how far away from meta Wraith is," even if her pick rate remains incredibly high.
"They need to rework her Passive, the new sixth sense perk even works better than her regular passive - I think the trap nearby one should have a bigger range, it’s like 4 meters of range or something when it should be like 10-15 meters."
A rework would certainly be an interesting prospect for Respawn, but given her popularity, the devs are probably reluctant to give Wraith any love at the moment.
