Apex Legends fans are tired of Caustic completely "ruining" the fun of the Lockdown LTM, with the Gas Trapper's abilities being incredibly OP for holding down locations.

While Apex Legends' Shadow Society Collection Event hasn't exactly gone down a storm with the community, the Lockdown LTM has been holding it together.
The fresh mode effectively tasks four squads with TDM loadouts to seek out Capture Zones and hold them down for an allocated period to earn points. The first team to reach 500 points is the victor.
Simple, right? Well, the fun didn't last very long as competitors quickly realised Caustic's Gas Traps and zone control would be extremely OP. As a result, Apex Legends players are claiming the Gas Trapper is "ruining" the LTM and making it "boring" for everyone else in the lobby.
Apex Legends fans flame Caustic for making Lockdown "boring"
Taking to the Apex Legends subreddit, user u/Obfuscious decided to voice their frustration over Caustic's domination of the Lockdown LTM.
According to them, "Lockdown was fun for me for exactly 1 day but since it has just become boring because it is impossible as every zone is just a Caustic sitting in a corner barrelled up in a room with no real counter."
A lot of Apex fans agree, arguing that modes that revolve around holding an enclosed area tend to be imbalanced, as the kits are designed for battle royale. "Any mode that involves holding an area is annoying because of defensive legends," said one user, with another arguing, "Objective-based LTMs just tend to be ass."
How can you counter Caustic in Apex's Lockdown LTM?
If you're tired of dying to Caustics in Lockdown, one option is to play the Gas Trapper yourself. This way, you'll be immune to enemy fumes, allowing you to infiltrate the Capture Points with ease and become a massive annoyance to the enemy team instead.
That's not your only way to counter Caustic, as both Mad Maggie and Fuse are great at clearing out enclosed spaces without having to enter the area. This is especially true for the Explosives Expert, as Knuckle Clusters are unbelievably deadly and can be fired from a long distance.
Finally, a Caustic can't lock down an area if you're there first, so picking a Legend with great rotations like Pathfinder is another solid option. There's no denying that the Gas Trapper is a power pick in this mode, but don't expect him to be tweaked - Respawn rarely adjust Legends specifically for LTMs.
