For the most part, Apex Legends operates pretty smoothly. At this stage, it's like EA's baby, earning more money with microtransactions than it knows what to do with. It only makes sense that it puts Respawn Entertainment to work on keeping things stable and comfortable for players to go nuts with.

The battle royale shooter is one of the greatest competitors in the genre, and with such high stakes in gameplay, everything needs to be perfect. But a new Apex Legends heirloom glitch has appeared that has been giving players the rarest cosmetics in the game for free.

Apex Legends Glitch Gives out Free Heirlooms

In a much less-than-ideal glitch for EA - the character-specific Heirloom cosmetics that require huge amounts of loot box grinding to acquire - are being dished out to players for free. Whoops.

The glitch was first revealed by a Reddit post made in the Apex Legends subreddit, with user froggy_lover sharing that they'd hopped into the game's firing range with Bloodhound's hatchet heirloom in hand.

It turns out that when the server is too slow in the game's lobby, you can simply equip the Heirloom before the game realises that you don't actually own the item. But, be warned that EA is clamping down already.

Can The Apex Legends Heirloom Glitch Get You Banned?

It's clear that EA is jumping to work on the glitch, especially as it seems to give players an item they should have spent a lot of money on. Replying to a tweet about the glitch, the EA Help Twitter account has confirmed that the team is working on a fix already. There were a lot of questions about whether exploiting the Apex Legends Heirloom glitch could get you banned, and now, we've got the answer.

EA help has issued the following warning: "If you unlock an Heirloom normally with Heirloom Shards then that would not warrant a ban. However we recommend not engaging with exploits, as doing so could be breaking our terms of service." If you want to flex a free Heirloom, you might want to do it quickly, as the glitch isn't likely to last much longer. After all, you don't want to be stuck opening all of those loot boxes and crossing your fingers.
