There's a reason that pros and fans alike love Octane. Mostly because he's an absolute nutter. But, now, his iconic mask has slipped, with an Apex Legends Octane face reveal leaving us all speechless. We've had a glimpse at his face, and fans are a little weirded out.

The speed demon is among the best characters in Apex Legends when it comes to pick rates, using his immense speed, and evasiveness to run rings around foes. Typically, the players who pick up Octane are often pretty selfish gamers, but either way, he's made a name for himself. And to be fair to him, that's all he wants.

What Does Octane Look Like Without His Mask On?

The latest Stories from the Outlands narrative short film from Apex Legends may focus on Ajay Che, aka Lifeline, but that doesn't mean she's the only Legend seen. It's here that we've also been given a new look at Octane without his iconic mask.

It's nice to see him unburdened by his steampunk visage, but some of us aren't sure how to handle it. Sharing his mug on Reddit, fans are discussing this new visage for one of the game's most popular legends. "Octane is fine asf," says one user. "I will fight anyone on this."

"Octane without a mask seems like an entirely different person," says another. "Imagine dying to a maskless Octane, seems weird." It's a bit like seeing Samus Aran or Master Chief without their helmets on - both of which have happened in some form. Ironically, this isn't the first time we've seen Octane without his beloved headgear.

We've Seen Octane's Face Before

Though this is the introduction of Octane without his mask for many, we've actually seen his face before, and it was first discovered by the most dedicated of Apex Legends fans. For those compelled to pick up the graphic novel Pathfinder's Quest, Octane's face will be of no surprise, though the book seems to depict him as a little goofier than we see him in the new video.

Seeing Octane bare-faced is, admittedly, a little odd - but there's weirder stuff to be seen. Imagine what we don't know about Revenant. He holds secrets we're nervous to dig up. Either way, it's nice to see a whole new side to Octavio Silva.
