The Apex Legends Ranked ladder appears to be in turmoil, as players up and down the divisions are laying down their guns in solidarity - or as wannabes - with NRG content creator Christopher "Sweetdreams" Sexton.

The Apex pro has started a trend where players are refusing to shoot and instead "rat" their way to the final circles, sitting in bushes until the placement SR is enough to keep them progressing through the ranks.

Now, it seems like there are Sweetdreams mimics all over the show, and normal Apex Legends players are losing their minds.

With the no-guns trend taking over Apex Legends, even infecting some of the codes to create Street-Fighter-esque boxing glitches, it seems like players have got the taste for sitting in corners until the lobby is at its weakest.

The camping, or "ratting," method has always been an Apex Legends gripe. But with the new influx of people taking this approach, usual players are becoming fed up and are taking to Reddit to vent their frustrations.

One player showcased a clip where they get killed by a third-party player who jumped out of a bush to blast the decisive bullet into Fuse's chest, turning him into a box.

Tree-camping has become increasingly popular in Apex Legends with Storm Point's arrival

"Can't wait to see all these 'I made it to masters or pred this season' from people that ratted the entire way," said the poster.

One fan agreed, saying, "I can't wait for 50% of every pub lobby to be full of purple trails next season." Another player ramped up the frustrations even more, saying, "I hate people doing s**t like that. My game time is limited and I hate it being wasted."

Maybe it's time for a Seer meta to return, just to serve as pest control until balance can be restored to the Outlands, as these pests are beginning to get out of hand.
