Apex Legends has a lovely habit of changing the gun meta. In fact, it's probably one of the best things that Respawn Entertainment has done to keep the game fresh season after season.

Whether it be through removing guns and placing them in care packages, changing gun classes from heavy to light ammo, and fiddling with the hop-ups, there's always something new to learn about the meta - which also changes the way each season is played.

But what happens when we scrap the guns completely?

Apex Legends players are ditching the guns

Unfortunately, Apex Legends might just be in the "dumbest" meta we've ever seen, with Charge Rifles being unnecessarily powerful and few counters to the R99.

So, you can be forgiven for wanting something new. Now, a group of players have ditched the guns altogether and are playing through the Ranked playlists with a "no gun" challenge.

The trio is using grenades, arc stars, thermals, and a good old-fashioned welly to kill opponents, often using the surroundings and the enclosing circle to eliminate enemies to see how far they can get up the Ranked leaderboards.

Apex Legends "No guns" ranked Challenge looks like so much fun

Reddit user "johnnypricetv" shared some clips of his no guns challenge highlights, using Legends such as Caustic, Fuse, and Horizon to deal a tonne of explosive damage.

"Imagine getting home from your 9-5 everyday job, grinding for months and months to improve, hitting Plat, and then getting killed by 3 homies who refuse to use guns," joked one admirer.

Currently, the trio of players sit in Diamond rank, but getting through to Predator is a different kettle of fish. The player also said that he won't be burdening random players with this crazed challenge, and will be sticking to his roster of friends.

Still, if you're operating in Diamond lobbies you might want to run away from any Horizon, Fuse, and Caustic trios that you see lurking in buldings.
