Apex Legends players are going to see a lot fewer Digital Threat scopes in Season 19 as the powerful optic is being completely removed from the crafter.

While there have been a lot of powerful weapons throughout Apex Legends Season 18, it’s a specific attachment that’s stood out from the crowd.

We’re of course talking about the Digital Threat scope, which has been a menace in the current meta, especially when paired up with Bangalore.

The ability to see through smokes and beam your opponents has been incredibly strong, but also immensely frustrating to play against.

Well, with Season 19, the devs are making a major change to how often you’ll see Digital Threat optics in your matches.

Digital Threat Optic removed from Apex Legends crafter

As confirmed by Game Designer John Larson at Respawn in a recent preview I was able to attend, the Digital Threat optic will no longer be available to craft in Apex Legends.

This decision was made to reduce the number of Digital Threats in a match at one time, especially with Bangalore being such a popular Legend.

The fact that you could undermine the designed rarity of that attachment, by virtue of it being in the crafting rotation, felt a little cheap,” said Larson.

Now that obtaining a Digital Threat scope won’t be a guarantee, it’ll be interesting to see if it affects Bang’s popularity in Season 19.

Will the Digital Threat Optic still be on the ground in Apex Legends?

While the Digital Threat optic is being removed from the crafter, it’ll still be available to find on the ground.

Of course, as the attachment is of gold rarity, don’t expect to find it very often in your matches. You can always head to high-tier loot areas if you want to increase your chances of getting hold of a Digi-Threat.

This news will be amazing for those who are getting tired of being beamed through smokes and may allow other Legends to creep into the meta for Season 19.

It also means that finding a Digital Threat will be exciting again, and may be the edge you need to pick up a victory.
