As Alter stamped her authority on Apex Legends, players finally got the option to dive into the Outlands with just one of their wingmen as duos arrived to move away from the usual trios mode.

But as the first Collection of 2024 arrives, Respawn Entertainment is taking those duos and forcing them together, as it takes a leaf out of Warzone's book by introducing a tried-and-tested squad size formula.

Ahead of the Double Take Collection in the mid-season patch, Duos are out and Quads are in for Apex Legends.

Apex Legends rolls out Quads mode

As Double Take prepares to land on June 25, Respawn Entertainment has officially announced "Quads Takeover", which will see teams of four jump from the ship for the first time ever.

The formula, which has proven extremely popular in other battle royale games like Warzone, will make engagements less frequent but much longer, as more revive opportunities are possible and taking your first shots accurately becomes much more important.

The Quads Takeover LTM will join the standard Trios mode, while Duos will be removed.

Legends' abilities, such as Valkyrie’s Ult, have been altered to suit four players in this LTM, although if you're an avid user of the Tridents, you will have to have at least one squadmate who gets their daily 10k steps in as they will stay as a three-person courier.

Apex Legends Double Take introduces Lifeline Prestige set, cat Revenant, and more

With the new mode comes a range of patch notes that change the map rotation and weapon balances.

The skin game is also on-point for the mid-season update, as Revenant gets his 'uwu' on by joining the cat-ear gang, while Lifeline gets a lot of love with a new Prestige set.

Apex Legends Double Take starts on June 25, when all of these changes will go live. So find an extra friend, or combine duos, as Apex Legends is about to erupt into chaos.
