A developer has reassured fans that scalpers should not be an issue when it comes to the Deluxe Edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 as there will be plenty of stock.

The Deluxe Edition is not a limited edition version of the game, and therefore it will be restocked in the future.

There will be plenty of stock of the Deluxe Edition of Baldur’s Gate 3

The Director of Publishing at Larian Studios has confirmed on Twitter that the Deluxe Edition of Baldur’s Gate 3 will not be limited edition and that there will be restocks throughout 2024.

He said: “Just FYI the Deluxe Edition is *not* a limited edition and stock is holding steady, with more waves being prepared within the Q1 2024 shipping window, so if you see them online being resold based on confirmed preorders at higher prices, skip it. There won’t be stock scarcity.

“We confirmed a minimum order but we already blitzed past that in the first day, and the Q1 shipping date allows us to simply increase wave sizes without jeopardising the shipping date so we don’t expect any issues within that 4 month buffer window. WEIRDLY ORGANISED considering it’s us.”

This means that scalpers who intend to buy large amounts of stock to resell online will be out of luck, as it seems like anyone who wants the game will have a good amount of opportunity to purchase it from the studio themselves.

Fans of the game seem to be happy with this decision, remarking: “It's funny how scarcity only benefits scalpers and not your end consumer. Gaming studios take this into account, Larian doing it right!”

The edition is set to ship in Q1 of 2024 for both consoles and PC and will be exclusively sold on Larian’s dedicated store for £79.99.
