Blasting past player expectations, Baldur's Gate 3 is an absolute banger, and we're pretty sure it's not just because of all the shagging.
Romance options aside, the game puts forward a grand adventure for players to explore as they see fit, all in perfect Dungeon & Dragons fashion. Players are obsessed, with the game's freedom being a huge selling point. As many games can feel a little narratively rigid these days, it's a tonic that we've all needed.
Sadly, accessibility for every element of Baldur's Gate 3 could be in trouble, as the game's Collector's Editions are already reselling at absurd prices.
Baldur's Gate 3 Collector's Edition is reselling for stupid amounts
We should've seen it coming, but eBay has struck again. There's no denying that the Baldur's Gate 3 Collectors Edition is worth more than the normal price, offering players the game, a diorama of Drow and a Mind Flayer, character sheets, a keyring, a cloth map and more.
It's a package that gives Baldur's fans a great physical manifestation of what's to come in the game - but it seems that opportunists are making the most of it. Already, the Baldur's Gate 3 Collector's Edition is reselling for incredible sums, with one landing on eBay for as much as $1,975.
Of course, we've seen scalpers put everything from Collector's Editions to Pokemon cards up for auction. You need to remember not all of these sales go through, but still, it's a pretty maddening sum. The pricy additions to the world of Baldur's Gate won't end there.
Digital Baldur's Gate 3 cosmetics are selling for $299
Blimey. It seems to get worse, as the die-cast dice included in the collector's edition of the game has its own replica as a cosmetic skin in-game, and one of them has just sold on eBay for $299. Not the dice - its digital counterpart.
This is pretty wild for a game that wasn't expected to be of such incredible popularity, but it's clear that players aren't happy with just the game itself and are happy to splash out on collectable merch. Even if that's just pixels in a game. Hey, if you've got the money to spare, go nuts.
