Baldur’s Gate 3 has finally shaved its cat

Um, we can explain. Baldur's Gate 3's most recent patch gave a cat too much hair, and fans have kicked off. Luckily, they've been shaved.

Patching up Baldur's Gate 3 is probably a good idea, especially given that it's pretty dedicated to its immersive role-playing and that any kind of glitch can take a player out of it all. Still, we can barely blame the team for missing a few bits in such a gigantic game.

Glitches and bugs are still in need of patching up after the most recent Baldur's Gate 3 update, and the same was the case of the last one. Baldur's Gate 3 might not be "purrfect," but a pretty irritating change has now been fixed.

His Majesty is bald again

That sounds like a pretty grim euphemism, but just let us explain. The last Baldur's Gate 3 patch did something unthinkable - it accidentally added a bug that gave His Majesty fur. For those who don't know, the Sphynx cat that players grew to love in Last Light In.

You don't need us to tell you that Sphynxes don't actually have fur, and the bug made him look like a completely different cat. For Baldur's Gate 3 players, that simply wouldn't stand.

The cat was burdened by a bug that gave him the same character model as another cat in the game, named Steelclaw. Thankfully, we're back to the His Majesty that we know and love. It's clear that Larian Studios knows the mess it made and quickly fixed our furry friend.

Larian Studios pays tribute to His Majesty in patch notes

Having fixed the hair problem that plagued His Majesty, Larian Studios revealed on Twitter that "more importantly, we shaved His Majesty," adding in the patch notes themselves that "His Majesty's appearance now befits his name and nature."

If you thought banging a bear or having sex with a clown were the weirdest things in Baldur's Gate 3, a naked cat soon overtook them. We're glad that the Baldur's Gate team knows exactly how to treat His Majesty, and they'll offer him the royal service that he clearly deserves. Now don't do it again.
