There are a few characters in classic gaming that don't really get their dues. Donkey Kong and Donkey Kong Jr are constantly overshadowed by Mario even in games named after themselves, nobody cares to offer any respect for the brave pilots of Galaga, and Mr Game & Watch might be the greatest multi-tasker of all time. But where's their love? Nowhere, that's where.

It's frustrating to see such brilliant icons cast to the wind, but it's a sad symptom of an ever-changing industry. And now, as a result of a big legal dispute, Ms Pac-Man has suffered a fate worse than death. To be forgotten.

Ms Pac-Man Is Removed From Recent Pacman Reissues

They hate to see a bad b*tch winning.

In new reissues of classic Pac-Man games, it has been spotted that a legal dispute has led to the complete removal of Ms Pac-Man. The rights of the character swaying to Namco back in 1984 has made things a little difficult with Midway, and as a result, the character has been removed from many reissues.

The change was pointed out on Twitter, as when the player returns to Pac-Man's house in Pac-Land, rather than Ms Pac-Man greeting you, there's a new character in a pink hat, who seems to be called Pac-Mom. This is a horrifying obstruction of justice.

Pac-Man Museum+ Is Coming Next Month

The new way to experience the Pac-Man classics is coming to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC on May 27, and comes with 14 classic Pac-Man games along with an interactive arcade - but of course, Ms Pac-Man will be noticeably absent.

Now that we know Ms Pac-Man won't be there, the atmosphere is soured. Ms Pac-Man is a staple, and deserves her due respect. Surely legal trouble isn't worth this. Let's resolve our differences and bring the queen back. It's what she deserves.
