During the Call of Duty League off-season, professional players from each corner of the CODsphere have reunited to make all-star rosters in a range of throwback tournaments aimed to relive the glory days, and move away from the Modern Warfare era.

Chicago Huntsmen content creator and member of TST streamers, Davis "Hitch" Edwards, has created a number of throwback tournaments over the last two months, and now he is taking the game to Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, one the most beloved games of the franchise.

Known for transcending Call of Duty into the top tier of console esports, Black Ops 2 won the hearts of many and created some outrageous rosters with players that still dominate the game today. Two of those rosters have announced they will reunite for the throwback tournament, to face off against teams that boast huge streamers such as Dr Disrespect.

The old-school OpTic Gaming roster that placed first in UMG Chicago 2012 and third at the Call of Duty 2013 World Championship have announced that they will be teaming for the throwback event. Matthew "Nadeshot" Haag will be once again paired with his other half in Seth "Scump" Abner, who will be joined by Will "BigTymeR" Johnson and Joe "MerK" Deluca, bringing back a huge hit of nostalgia. Who remembers the OpTic Van?

It was Fariko Impact who won the Black Ops 2 World Championships, boasting talisman Damon "Karma" Barlow. Also remembered for his 28 Killstreak on the Hardpoint Yemen, the submachine gun main then went on to win another of his three world championship rings in Call of Duty: Ghosts the following year as part of compLexity Gaming. Karma has announced the coL world championship-winning side will also reunite for the Black Ops 2 throwback, seeing himself reunited with Ian "Crimsix" Porter, Tyler "TeePee" Polchow, and Patrick "Price" Aches. Between them, they have nine Call of Duty World Championship rings.

Fighting it out for $20,000 will also be the infamous Herschel "Dr DisRespect" Beahm IV who will be joined by other huge streamers by the names of David "StoneMountain64" Steinberg, Zack "ZLaner" Lane, and Richard "KingRichard" Nelson.

The throwback tournament will kick off on October 28 and can be viewed on Hitch's Twitch channel or any of the competitions streams too.

With the first official online Black Ops 2 tournament in over four years, can Karma show why he was the best in the game, or will OpTic Gaming be able to clinch the victory this time around?
