Black Ops 6 Beta Records

Black Ops 6 might be one of the most divisive Call of Duty titles yet, with an omni-shaped fracture straight down the middle of the community. Still, what would CoD be without a little of healthy rivalry from within its own camp?

Yet it looks like, even with each side of the divide having their own complaints, Black Ops 6 might just be the closest thing to Hannah Montana's "best of both worlds". Although the proof is in the pudding, Black Ops 6 is already smashing records as the best Beta that we've ever had.

Black Ops 6 smashes player count records for Call of Duty Betas

As there was no playtesting for World at War, Call of Duty Beta tests are quite a new thing and have only really emerged as a feature in the last five years or so. However, as these tests can be really indicative of how a Call of Duty title will turn out, it's a good job that Black Ops 6 is off to a flying start.

Taking to social media, Activision has confirmed that the Black Ops 6 Beta has broken four records in CoD history. The Beta grossed the highest "Total players", "Hours played", "Playtime Per Player", and "Most Matches Played" across both the Early Access and Open Beta weekends.

Of course, this is skewed slightly given that the previous Betas have had PlayStation-exclusive weekends, cutting off PC and Xbox users for half of the playtests.

The one stat that will please Activision is the Playtime Per Player, showing that even with a larger catchment area, players have been inclined to put in some serious time.

This is specifically positive given Omnimovement's massive changes, as it seems players are keen to learn it rather than being put off it immediately and deciding Black Ops 6 isn't for them.

Of course, there is the usual boycott camp that claims Black Ops 6 is a "downgrade" from MW3, but even Hannah Montana's country tunes couldn't please everyone.
