Black Ops 6 has its fingers in many pies as it prepares for launch in October. Treyarch's ambitious Call of Duty instalment looks to be one of the biggest releases in the series, and yet the devs aren't resting on their laurels when it comes to all of the trimmings.
While some modes might suffer with the mass release of all game modes, specifically the 'pointless' Campaign, Treyarch is continuing to push out an abundance of usual live-service content in the hope that the mass overload won't be detrimental but rather celebrated.
One of these playlists is Gunfight, which, after five years of being out in the cold when new games launch, has already been getting a lot of love.
Black Ops 6 already outshines every game in the last five years for Gunfight support
Gunfight was forgotten from the start in MWIII, but better times are coming

Gunfight was first rolled out in Modern Warfare 2019, where it featured as a marquee attraction to the new-dawn CoD and featured seven maps at launch.
However, every game since has added Gunfight as a post-launch mode and continued to see the life drain from it in newer games like MW3.
A Reddit post showcased the disparity in support. The mode was completely axed in Vanguard, Cold War got around to it in Season 1 and supported it until the end. But the last two Modern Warfare games have been poor on the Gunfight front.
MW2 only added new content in Season 3 and soon ramped up the content to have nine new maps by Season 6, although it might have been too little too late.
MW3 only added a single new Gunfight map and leeched off MW2's pool for the entirety of its lifetime. Black Ops 6 has already revealed and added four Gunfight maps from launch, some of which were playable in the Beta.
Black Ops 6 players hopeful to see Gunfight Tournaments return
"Bring back gun fight tournaments with free camos instead of sh*tty blueprints," was the biggest cry on the Reddit thread.
Tournaments, again, haven't been loved since Cold War, but were hugely popular back then, proving to be a good warmup for Warzone players while they awaited the rest of their squad loading up.
"Gunfight is far from my favourite mode, but the gunfight tournament was low key one of the best features of CW," another fan added. A third added, "I remember running the tourneys in 2019 with my buddy, good times."
It's extremely positive for Gunfight stans that Black Ops 6 is already supporting the mode, and knowing that Cold War was the last time we saw Tournaments, Treyarch might be cooking up a return to the limelight for the small skirmish mode.
