Call of Duty has always had a relationship with the devil's lettuce. That was more evident over the last year than ever before, as Snoop Dogg, Cheech and Chong, and a weird weed sloth were all found to be zooting instead of shooting.
It's a trend that has lasted years, even trailing back to the older Call of Duty games, where you could sport the pot leaves on your calling card. Black Ops 6 might be a sucker for new features, but it also doesn't want to break tradition. 2024 will apparently continue Call of Duty's relationship with Mary Jane...and her bosom.
Black Ops 6 is filled with 'deep cleavages' and weed
The ESRB rating for Black Ops 6 is here, and as usual, the latest Call of Duty is rated Mature - although we know these slide-cancelling, bunny-hoping, omni-spamming kids are well into their teens.
Alongside some of the more typical reasons, such as uses of expletives like "f**k" and "s**t", combat, gore, and savage dismemberment - "Zombie and hallucination sequences also depict decapitation" - the ESRB ratings also reveal some rather raunchy details.
"The game also includes player cards that can be equipped as part of players' identities; some of these cards depict female figures designed with deep cleavage and/or revealing outfits," the ratings read.
Sex isn't always a massive part of Call of Duty. Scarcely does the campaign ever get into warm scenes. But there has been an upward tick of proclivity in recent years, and with it, a growing horny fanbase who cry foul when female characters' "jiggly" parts are nerfed.
There will also be the annual celebration for the potheads too, as the ESRB adds, "other cards have marijuana-themed items/images (e.g. cannabis, skeletons smoking."
These ratings suggest that the expletives are limited to your profile customisation rather than seeing Russell Adler join Captain Price back in the Red Light District, where, rumour has it, he has grown fond of since his excursion to Amsterdam in the MW2 campaign.
Still, you can expect Call of Duty to continue these themes on throughout the lifetime of Black Ops 6, and 4/20 might be just as big a hit as it was last year.
