Black Ops Sniping Headshot

Following the Black Ops 6 Beta, fans had a handful of gripes. Maps were a big one, and that might just continue to prove annoying moving forward. Movement was another, with omnimovement splitting opinions.

When it comes to the core design of the game and gunplay, snipers were next on the list of flaws alongside non-existent headshots on certain weapons. Moving toward full release, Call of Duty has now revealed some major changes to these blemishes, both of which have been well-received already.

Sniper fans joyed at Black Ops 6 fixes

It might only be one of the more minor notes, but sniper fans all around the Call of Duty community have loved the latest patch note. Taking to a recent blog, Call of Duty devs revealed "improvements to fluidity of sniper ADS" will be coming to Black Ops 6.

Immediately, this was met with applause. "SNIPERS LESS WONKY? OH YESSSSSS," shouted one fan on X. Another added, "Improved Snipers!!! Lets f**king go."

There is some downfall for snipers, after all this is a balancing act, as bullet penetration has been increased so that the head glitch on Scud won't be a full shield to hide behind.

Black Ops 6 fixes inconsistent headshots

In the Beta, headshots were nullified for the most part, and players often complained that they weren't being rewarded for choosing between firing at players' cranium or their stomachs.

The post has revealed that headshots will be taken more seriously and alluded to having a bonus system for repeated accurate shots.

"[We] are working on adjustments to many weapons to reward players who land multiple headshots during an engagement," the blog reads.

"That said, we do not want hit location multipliers to significantly affect the consistency of time to kill in Black Ops 6, so we will continue to monitor the effectiveness of headshots during launch and beyond."

Community figure "TheGhostOfHope" praised this, given that most headshots are a fluke, and repeated ones are skill. "Headshots in Call of Duty are usually luck-based because of the flinch in a gunfight," he said on X.

"Their philosophy on headshots is one of their biggest strengths in my opinion. Hitting a single headshot with *most* weapon classes should not effectively reduce the time to kill an enemy." Black Ops 6 might now be ready and primed for gunplay. Now, all we need are some good maps to satisfy the ever-grumpy community.
