Black Ops 6 appears to be too good to be true. There are more fan-requested features than ever before (building on Sledgehammer Games' progress this year), such as 16 original three-lane maps, a prestige system, and Zombies.

There are more features that Treyarch hopes will spur the whole franchise forward too, like omnimovement. But it's not all sunshine and rainbows.

The dreaded Gunsmith is back, and while Treyarch looks like it’s streamlining this blueprint-crafting system, one feature is set to return.

Black Ops 6 Gunsmith set to separate attachments to individual guns

According to "Detonated", Black Ops 6 guns will only share optical attachments, so your red dots and acog sights will be available on all weapons once unlocked on just one gun.

But that won't be the case for everything else, such as barrels, stocks, and grips.

This means each gun will have around 50 of its own attachments, all of which you have to unlock separately.

Already, this has thrown up quite an issue, as it was already hated by players who needed to unlock nearly 1,000 different attachments game-wide in MW3.

Add in a Prestige system which usually wipes your weapon progress, the gunsmith appears to be a massive gripe for Black Ops 6.

"Oh yeah can't wait to go through 20 weapon levels to use the one muzzle that works on every gun," one fan moaned on Twitter.

We do know some studios are not a fans of the Gunsmith, Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games inclusive, but Activision has pushed for the feature given that blueprints are a key microtransaction revenue stream.

It's not yet fully clear as to how the Prestige system will interact with the Gunsmith, but this model isn't a fan-favourite by any means and could be quite a speedbump for Black Ops 6.
