So far, the Black Ops 6 Zombies experience looks like it'll be everything that fans have been asking for. Well, almost everything.

A return to a full year of round-based Zombies sees Edward Richtofen return as the antagonistic puppet master, while Wonder Weapons and Perk-a-Colas are back alongside new mutations that turn you into an enemy mech Mangler.

However, players have already found a flaw in the changes to the Pack-a-Punch machine.

Zombies fans take issue with 'soulless' Pack-a-Punch machine in Black Ops 6

The Pack-a-punch machine is nearly as legendary as CoD Zombies itself, possibly surpassing the mode's legacy after the machine's namesake has become a common turn of phrase for any significant upgrade.

But in Black Ops 6, fans are claiming that the weapon upgrade machine has lost its shine and become "soulless", as the developers have removed the fear factor and excitement about getting your hands on a tier-two weapon.

In Terminus, the Pack-a-Punch machine appears to be in a generic spot on the map, and Treyarch has taken away any "upgrade timers," meaning you enter your weapon and get it back almost instantly. This is compared to previous years, where you had to make sure you had time to wait for the gun to come back.

Players will remember Kino Der Toten, where you had to argue with friends about who could use the machine to get enough upgrades within the 30-seconds teleport timer.

Already, players have taken to social media to claim that "Zombies is cooked" and has become a "Warzone-ified slop" after seeing the machine in action.

"Where's the f**king song each time you Pack? It's just so empty without it," added another fan. A third fan added, "God forbid they add MORE features while still letting you keep the original playstyle."

Others pointed out that the best Zombies maps of all time have a designated Pack-a-Punch area, which is "literally designed to give the players time to catch their breath while they upgrade their weapons."

Five, Kino, Forsaken, Moon, and Mob of the Dead are among many that centre the map around getting to the Pack-a-Punch machine and are widely recognised as some of the more successful maps ever made.

There will be more Zombies stalwart features added to give Black Ops 6 more soul, such as GobbleGums, but the Pack-a-Punch machine does appear to be more of a gimmick than a side-hustle this year.
