While some think Season 4 of Amazon's The Boys has pushed things too far in terms of its shock factor, that hasn't stopped the seedy superhero series from being one of the streaming service's big hitters. From its humble start in 2019, The Boys has continued to grow, but despite plans to wrap after Season 5, fans are obviously asking what comes next.

Even though franchise overseer Eric Kripke has already outlined plans for more seasons of Gen V and at least one more live-action spin-off, gamers are wondering where the long-awaited video game adaptation is. The Boys is no stranger to video games, with big bad Homelander recently making his mark on Mortal Kombat

GTA's Homelander mod hyped The Boys video game

We've also seen The Boys repeatedly pop up in Call of Duty, and while we imagine the supes of The Seven are a little too X-rated for Fortnite, we only expect the franchise to grow. Although there have been previous rumours about Amazon working on a video game based on The Boys, it's yet to take flight.

With time ticking on, fans have taken it upon themselves to create their own The Boys video game. It's not quite swinging across the New York City skyline in Insomniac's Spider-Man games, but a series of impressive mods from The Darth Knight have put a souped-up Homelander in GTA V - laser eyes and all.

These mods are paywalled, but when X account TheBoysOOCC shared the footage, fans of the franchise went wild over the idea of kicking butt as an unhinged Homelander. One cheered, "Ima play tf out that game," while another added, "This would be my favorite game for a couple years."

As someone else said, "The Boys need to make a game ASAP," we're hit with that pang of pain that The Boys doesn't have a video game yet. Someone else concluded, "I'd love it if this game had multiple modes, one where you play as the supes and one where you play as the Boys, and naturally with each mode having its own ending."

We know Invincible is getting its own AAA game, and with talk about a crossover between that equally brutal comic book caper and The Boys, it feels like it's only a matter of time before Karl Urban lends his foul-mouthed vocals to another iteration of Billy Butcher - albeit in pixel form.
