One of the most successful European Fortnite professionals, Benjy "benjyfishy" Fish, is allegedly set to join Team Heretics VALORANT for the upcoming VCT Last Chance Qualifier (LCQ).

This move would see Benjyfishy make his debut in a top-tier VALORANT league, coming only a year after quitting Fortnite.

Unexpected Mid-Season Pickup by Team Heretics

As per the report by Alejandro "anonimotum" Gomis of blix.gg, Team Heretics has reached a verbal agreement with Benjyfishy mid-season.

This is especially notable since VALORANT Champion Tour (VCT) teams typically aren't allowed to make changes during the season. In this case, however, VCT has granted Team Heretics special approval to sign a new player for the LCQ.

The agreement with the 19-year-old British esports player is alleged to not solely be for the LCQ, as the report indicates the possibility of a much longer-term deal.

Who is Benjyfishy?

Benjyfishy is well-known for his time in Fortnite but made a significant career pivot in June 2022. He stopped competing in the Epic Games' battle royale smash hit and switched to VALORANT, citing a loss of passion for the former.

According to Liquipedia, Benjyfishy won almost $600,000 USD in tournament prize money during his Fortnite career. In the VALORANT scene, he's seen as one of the promising talents in Europe, predominantly playing the champion Killjoy.

His transfer to Team Heretics - one of the partnered teams in the VCT EMEA League - would place him squarely in the Tier 1 competition echelon.

Especially during his time in Fortnite, he accrued a sizeable social media following with 4 million followers on Twitch, 1.7 million YouTube subscribers, and 1.9 million followers on Instagram and therefore counts as one of the most well-known esports professionals on the planet.
