Warzone is strapping on its competitive boots and getting ready to run headfirst into the action, all guns blazing.
With Season 2 being the red ticker tape at the end of the marathon of developing, Activision and its many active studios on Call of Duty's battle royale mode are all streamlined in the final steps over the line, as Warzone Ranked is arriving with an audacious new look.
Warzone Resurgence is getting its own Ranked Playlist in Season 2, and the new Fortune's Keep layout will serve as its first playground.
Warzone devs announce Resurgence Ranked for Season 2
Warzone Season 2 will see Resurgence Ranked arrive from the get-go, while Battle Royale Ranked is being held back for a future update to allow players to enjoy the small-map-based chaos.
The Resurgence Ranked mode will be available on February 7 when the update goes live, and players can join another 50 enemies on the map as they skirt around to get pole positions and play their lives to perfection.
Although Resurgence is the game mode, allowing multiple respawns if your teammates are still alive and kicking, a weight will be placed on your life, as SR will be docked every time you respawn, making your deaths very valuable if you want to climb through the ranks.
As usual, there will be Ranked Rewards for your progress, ranging from Operator skins to weapon camos and emblems to flex on your account. The rank will be reflective of those in MW3.
Players will earn SR for kills and placements, with the kill multiplier getting increasingly beneficial the longer that you survive.
And, of course, your loudout cheese will all be restricted. There are no dragon breath rounds, snake-shot pistols, or noob tubes allowed.
Warzone Resurgence Ranked to be Fortune's Keep exclusive in Season 2
Coming into Season 2, Warzone does have a handful of Resurgence maps available, with Ashika Island, Vondel, and now Fortune's Keep all being playable when the update goes live.
However, for Warzone Resurgence Ranked, there will only be Fortune's Keep available.
The adapted map will see Ranked players aim to control the upper levels of the Keep, while skirmishes for kill points will be ongoing underneath the ground.
So, keep your guns up in Season 2, as Resurgence Ranked is on the way, which also opens up casual lobbies to be much more entertaining for those who don't want to get all hot and sweaty.
