After making a splash on the big screen, Terrifier's Art the Clown is 'carving' himself a new legacy in the world of video games. While we're begging for Behaviour Interactive to introduce Art to Dead by Daylight, we'll have to make do with him shooting up the battlefield in Call of Duty.
From the twisted mind of Damien Leone, Art the Clown first appeared in a 2008 short movie called The 9th Circle, but since, has become the silent but deadly lead of the Terrifier movies. Terrifier 3 is slashing its way into our lives on October 11, meaning the timing couldn't be better for a CoD crossover.
Call of Duty's Tracer Pack: Terrifier Operator Bundle is 'almost' perfect
With Art's horrifying look making him perfect for Call of Duty's annual The Haunting event, his bundle is selling like hotcakes. The Tracer Pack: Terrifier Operator Bundle comes in at the typical 2,400 CoD Points (around $20) and includes the following:
- KortTac Faction Art the Clown operator skin
- RAM-7 assault rifle Terrifier weapon blueprint
- WSP-9 submachine gun Miles County Killer weapon blueprint
- Sunny Disposition emblem
- Clown Cafe large decal
- Little Pale Girl weapon sticker
- Sienna’s Wings weapon charm
- Terrifier loading screen
Some are already praising the Terrifier skin as the best Call of Duty skin ever, which is high praise indeed. Still, others are disappointed that there's no Art finishing move - especially as Michael Myers got his own Haddonfield Takedown finisher.
Considering Art is a terrifying menace who only communicates through miming, it feels like a missed opportunity that the devs didn't lean into the wacky with some out-there finisher. One disappointed fan wrote, "I wish it came with a finisher," while another added, "Instant buy "Throat Rip" finisher move works really well with the operator. Also, try "A Bit Stabby.""
Others had a problem with his weapons, saying that they're specifically not buying the bundle due to his arsenal, while there were also issues about the fact he won't be playable in Black Ops 6. Someone concluded, "Art The Clown is awesome, but I wish they released it for Blops 6 and not at the end of MW3."
This has been a recurring complaint, with gamers unimpressed that Treyarch isn't continuing the Carry Forward feature and is leaving all our hard-earned (and bought) Modern Warfare skins locked up in MW3. It's true that Art will be useable in Warzone, but remember, that's not how everyone plays.
In general, there are grumbles that the devs cooked so hard on Season 6's content. We know Sledgehammer Games likely wanted to go out on a high, but looking at some of the low-effort seasons we've previously had, it feels like these horror favourites are a last-ditch attempt to make money before we head into Black Ops 6.
At least Art is proving popular (even without a finishing move), with the murderous menace breaking into the mainstream. He'll hopefully be heading into DbD before long, and after that, how much longer until you think we'll get an Art the Clown Kameo fighter in Mortal Kombat? Ah, we can only dream.
