The key art for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 Season 5 confirms the return of Valeria, and safe to say, fans are happy that their favourite 'mommy' Operator is back.

What goes around comes around in Call of Duty's world, and as we gear up for Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 5, a blast from the past is ready to make her mark on the CoDverse. Even as we look ahead to the all-star lineup of Black Ops 6, there's still plenty of life in the old dog that is MW3.

While we're not going to lie that we're disappointed the proposed Deadpool & Wolverine collaboration isn't on the way, but with a typically packed roadmap, it looks like Season 5 is bringing a WWE crossover, a tease of Verdansk's eventual Warzone return, and more. One of the biggest wins is the return of our favourite "mommy."

Valeria gives us a blast from the past in Modern Warfare 3 Season 5

Fans online have noticed that the Modern Warfare 3 Season 5 key art has a striking resemblance to Modern Warfare 2's Season 3. Back in April 2023, Valeria Gaza was the poster girl of the game, and now, she's back. Known under her alias as El Sin Nombre, Valeria was a former member of the Mexican Special Forces alongside Alejandro Vargas, but she soon went rogue.

Serving as an antagonist in MW2, Valeria made a brief but memorable cameo in MW2 Season 3 when she escaped custody and teased an eventual return. Actor María Elisa Camargo revealed as much back in November when she shared a shot of her in a mocap suit and featured the MW3 logo.

The last we saw of Valeria, she'd mobilised her troops on Al Mazrah and Alejandro had been tasked with tracking her down. Her involvement in MW3 Season 5 remains unclear, but expect her to be the season's big bad as her story continues. Interestingly, the key art shows off two new Operators we know nothing about.

With Valeria's long-awaited return pencilled in for July 24, players were over the moon that this means mommy is back to enact her next scheme. When the OP reminded us that she's now headlined two seasons, someone else responded, "Cus she’s the hottest operator in the game."

Another Val supporter wrote, "She is the true queen," and a third added, "I am 100% buying the season pass and her skins. I am so happy that my Latina mami is f**king back!." Others were less enthusiastic, complaining that it feels like a copy and paste of MW2 Season 3.

Whether lazy editing or a genuine continuation of Val's arc, there are obvious concerns that we'll be shelling out even more money for a slight tweak to her base skin. We'll admit that her Rupture BlackCell skin was pretty cool, but alongside a gripping story, we want Valeria to get some badass outfits that matches her personality.
