Call of Duty players have had their say on what they think is the best Call of Duty weapon of all time, and the number one pick is from the original MW2.

Over Call of Duty's long history, there have been a huge amount of popular and fan-favourite weapons available to use. Whether it's MW2’s Intervention or UMP45, Black Ops 1’s Galil, or even the Scar-H from MW3, CoD has a whole catalogue of classic guns that are remembered fondly by the community.
However, there are some debates that CoD fans can never agree on, and much like what the best game in the franchise's history is, it's the title for the best Call of Duty weapon of all time. Well, a viral tweet has allowed players to cast their vote, and one weapon easily came out on top as the most popular pick.
What is the best Call of Duty weapon of all time?
Popular CoD Twitter account CharlieINTEL sparked a huge discussion on July 4, posting a picture of the ACR from the original MW2 and claiming it's the "best Call of Duty weapon of all time." The tweet went viral, racking up over 68,000 likes, and on the whole, most of the community agreed with the statement.
Known for its steady recoil pattern, the ACR was a laser beam that was unbelievably satisfying to use. While the gun didn't have the strongest TTK, it was incredibly consistent and could perform in almost any skirmish.
Not only that, you needed to reach level 48 in MW2 to unlock the weapon, so for a lot of new players, it was an exciting long-term goal. While other options like the SCAR-H and AK-47 were strong in the original MW2, nothing felt as good to use as the ACR.
Best Call of Duty weapon of all time: Honourable mentions
While the majority of Twitter users agreed with crowning the MW2 ACR as the best CoD weapon of all time, some had other suggestions. A few honourable mentions included the MW3 ACR, the Black Ops 2 FAL, the Black Ops 1 FAMAS, and of course, the silenced MW2 UMP45.
It's worth noting that the pre-nerf Model 1887s also got a lot of votes from the community in the comments, just because of how dominant they were before getting changed. At the end of the day, the best weapon of all time all comes down to personal preference and the weapons you had the most fun with in your CoD career.
Still, there's no escaping how the MW2 ACR has stood above the rest in terms of overall popularity. That's at least until this debate inevitably rolls around again.
