The doom is upon us, literally. Just as an official DOOM collaboration is rolled out in Call of Duty and Warzone, fans have begun to perish in the flames of hell. A shotgun inspired by the 1993 game being sent to drive us all straight to oblivion.

As part of the Call of Duty x Doom crossover, the "Super Shotgun" renowned within the series has been added as a blueprint for Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone, but its superlative wasn't to be underestimated.

The DOOM shotgun is set to cause havoc in Call of Duty

The DOOM bundle has yet to be officially released in Call of Duty, with its release set for later in Season 6, but early footage of its pure power has been found, and its damning.

Circulated on Twitter, the Super Shotgun is powerful enough to kill Warzone enemies in a single shot, even if it looks funky with its low-FPS visuals.

Fans instantly slammed this gun, with one fan saying, "Why they thought this was a good idea is beyond me." Another added, "Lame… let's just ruin Warzone with all the little Timmy’s running around with their AA one tapping people through smoke."

Of course, the chainsaw melee is equally as powerful, but that does mean you have to be even closer to an enemy before shredding their limbs.

Call of Duty breaks one shotgun attachment to avoid pay-to-win scandal

Interestingly, with the DOOM shotgun held behind a paywall, the developers have now decided that all of the Lockwood 300 builds - with a certain attachment - will be this devastating.

As found by James "JGOD" Godoy, the Lockwood 300 will one-shot a player with the Matuzek 812 Barrel equipped up to ranges of around 10m, even if the Warzone player has a full set of plates.

The attachment has likely only been buffed just to comply with the DOOM shotgun to avoid a pay-to-win weapon being added, but Warzone is also about to be this gun's playground.

This has now sparked conversations about whether Call of Duty purposely releases overpowered guns and attachments for a revenue burst only to nerf them later, as fans have become savvy to the pattern.
