Call of Duty fans unsure about Black Ops 6's new ‘Scooby-Doo’ feature

After a series of Black Ops 6 leaks have spoiled what's coming to Call of Duty, some fans think new interactive map elements are edging more towards Scooby-Doo than classic CoD.

Like it or not, Call of Duty has been leaning into its arcade-like style for quite some time, taking steps with cartoon-inspired characters towards warping into the iconic Dead Ops.

Whether it be with 8-bit makeovers or bobblehead Operators, Call of Duty is getting ever more goofy, and it appears Black Ops 6 isn't slowing this trend down. After a massive wave of leaks, players have noticed one "Scooby-Doo-inspired" feature and have instantly raised a sceptical eyebrow.

Black Ops 6 leaks showcase new interactive secret doors

Doors have been one of the more unnecessary additions to Call of Duty post-MW2019, often causing more hassle than they're worth and being despised by a lot of fans.

Yet, Black Ops 6 looks to be upping the ante here with secret interactive doorways. Now-deleted leaked gameplay (taken down by copyright strikes) shows one player using interactable buttons to open secret doorways and shut them once passing through.

It seems these secret passageways can be used for cover to heal or escape the fire of bullets. Thankfully, the passageways don't appear to be too densely populated and serve much more like VALORANT's do, rather than death traps.

Black Ops 6 fans torn on new interactive doors

After being leaked, a lot of players instantly began to raise concern, with one fan mocking how it would be like watching Scooby-Doo villains hide behind fake walls.

Another added, "So when I get my VSAT and I can’t find nobody cause they in the basement playing RuneScape with claymore and riot shields. Just great." On the other hand, others simply don't care. For the most part, they won't interfere with the core gameplay, and having an overall well-tuned Call of Duty is the priority rather than tidbit gimmicks.

Funnily enough, this isn't the first time that we've seen secret doors, as Black Ops 4's Hacienda map also had a Scooby-inspired contraption. Hacienda is among the leaked Black Ops 6 remastered maps and could possibly be a catalyst for these types of passageways.
