Before we all got old, grew beards or grew out of the training wheels, gaming nights were held without headsets and instead in-person, split screening the night away with a bag of cheesy crisps and a box of pizza.

Those endless nights of Zombies on Kino Der Toten, or 1v1s screaming "stop screen-watching me", were prime Call of Duty.

But these legendary nights could be on the way back after a decade of ageing and maturing, as the series is finally available on Apple Vision Pro, letting us play high-quality CoD while sitting on the same couch (virtually).

Call of Duty is now available on Apple Vision Pro

For players who are into immersion, virtual reality is now a popular method of gaming, and for the first time, you can now play Call of Duty on a make-believe screen.

Thanks to the Nexus+ App, and GeForce, you can now get Modern Warfare 3 on the Apple Vision Pro, and continue rocking your lobbies from anywhere with a slither of internet.

According to Redditors who have already tried this, MW3 runs "virtually perfect" - pun intended, presumably - with next to no lag, and streams at a maximum of 4K.

Apple Vision Pro puts CoD lobbies on the same couch again

If you're partying up with friends, the app will also put your squad in the same room as you, virtually, where you can take your eyes off the screen for a split second to converse with the floating avatar heads of your pals.

"This was cool! Almost felt like we were all sitting on the couch playing Call of Duty together. Sorry for all the head movement, I couldn’t stop looking around," said Reddit user "liamneeesons" who posted the video.

Others have already pencilled in plans for Warzone virtual LANs, where you will finally be able to put a face to that trash-talker.

It might not be the same as getting sweaty in Zombies lobbies, running rings around the undead while you quick revive your frustrated roommate, but it will certainly smell better, and it appears to be just as fun.
