Ever been killed in Call of Duty and your head has simply fallen off? Rage Quit, controller smash, screen destroyed, mum/girlfriend left furious? Well, me neither but who doesn't love hyperbole?

But I think I might be pretty close to this level of self-destruction if I loaded into a game in a $500,000 tournament and my opponents turned up without skulls, bouncing around with nothing but shoulders.

that's the case for some Call of Duty League pros this weekend though, as a bizarre Modern Warfare 3 glitch has rendered Operators headless.

Headless MW3 glitch plagues $500,000 CDL event

Off the back of a short holiday season break, the Call of Duty League Major I qualifiers have gotten back underway, as we climb towards the inaugural LAN of the 2024 Season.

But in one quite crucial seeding match between Los Angeles Guerrillas and Atlanta FaZe, Call of Duty League caster Clint "Maven" Evans noticed that some players were spawning without heads.

While jumping into a Control match on Invasion, in the final round Maven shouted out, "They’re headless bro."

"They’re headless. That guy did NOT have a head," he continued. "I am 100% certain. That man had his head shot off but didn’t even have a head before it was shot off.”

Having gone pretty hard on the pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns over Halloween, I think we've finally found what happens to all of the bodies...

CDL 2024 season restarts with an abundance of bugs

It's quite likely that the CDL players weren't actually headless, given that Conor "Diamondcon" Johst appeared to take the dome off Zack "Drazah" Jordan rather seamlessly, and was rather just an issue with the overlay; the League allows players to use whichever skins they like, aside from a list of GA'd outfits, rather than forcing them to wear their own CDL Team Pack skins, where they later add these outfits on as an overlay for the viewers benefits.

The headless glitch wasn't the only issue that CDL faced either, as the official broadcast was also riddled with issues, even dropping out on YouTube amid a power cut, leaving teams to play their games offline.

Still, the CDL rolls on and the heads can still continue to be blasted off.
