Old-school Call of Duty players slam 'movement kings' for ruining MW3

Old-school Call of Duty players are tired of sweaty "movement kings" ruining Modern Warfare 3 multiplayer with their advanced mechanics.

If you were looking to be a top-tier Call of Duty player back in the day, it felt like all you needed to focus on was your aim and maybe landing an occasional 360 no-scope clip.

Now, some competitors put more emphasis on movement mechanics than actually shooting their weapon, gliding around the map at high speeds, and eliminating every foe in sight.

This is certainly the case in Modern Warfare 3, and for some, there's nothing more fun than learning every sweaty movement trick under the sun. For others, it's unbelievably frustrating to play against.

Certain old-school CoD fans have even gone as far as to claim that these "movement kings" are destroying the multiplayer experience.

OG CoD fans flame 'movement kings' for giving them a 'headache'

Advanced movement techniques have always been a part of Call of Duty, but this era of fans has taken it to a new level. For Jxsida on the ModernWarfareIII subreddit, it's all gone a little too far, and fighting against these "movement kings" with "inhuman" mobility is tiresome.

"Watching how some people play this game is genuinely brain-rotting... It’s unfathomable some of the deaths I’ve had in this game. Like I may have seen someone out of the corner of my eye, turned to shoot, and in that time they’ve jumped three times and dropshotted before I can even react."

Other OG fans have just given up competing with these players, letting the deaths roll in and, in turn, getting placed in significantly lower skill lobbies. "Just take your whoopings and get SBMM demoted to the washed-up gamer lobbies with me, trust me it's much better."

Other CoD fans argue some players just need to 'get good'

Not everyone is on the same page, though, with some movement fans chiming into the discussion to let those complaining know that they need to just "get good."

"Sounds like you need to get good, maybe try another game," said one user, with another arguing, "I can't have another year of these subs being infested with movement and skin complaints all year round, can we give it a rest for 5 minutes?"

It's clear some believe that advanced movement is just a result of players getting better, and OG CoD fans should evolve or stop complaining. Whatever side of the debate you're on, movement techniques don't appear to be going anywhere anytime soon, especially with Sledgehammer leaning into mechanics like slide-canceling.
