It's the mechanic on everyone's lips this year, as Black Ops 6 readies "omnimovement" to revolutionise Call of Duty.

The developers are hyping the 360-degree movement feature as something that they want to change CoD forever - and for the better - but the jury won't be able to give its verdict until late October.

Yet if you had hopes that this would be the future for CoD, you might be worried to know that Black Ops 6 Ranked Play might have omnimovement entirely disabled, with pros are already considering banning it.

Omnimovement could be banned in Black Ops 6 Ranked

Ranked Play reflects the professional rules, and the CDL circuit often bans equipment (your Claymores and RPGs) and mechanics (auto Tac Sprint) through a "gentlemen's agreement" (GA).

This is to ensure competitive integrity, but it has recently been abused to ban guns with high headshot multipliers or even the entire sniper category because they are overpowered in Search and Destroy.

Now, omnimovement might be in their crosshairs to ban in Black Ops 6, as the toggle feature allows it to be turned off, and the pro scene appears to be scared that it will be too "broken."

"I don't want you guys to get your hopes up by this omnimovement," Toronto Ultra star Thomas "Scrappy" Ernst said on stream. "That sh*t is probably getting GA'd, let's be real. It depends how broken it is. It'll either get GA'd or it won't be that good to where pros won't want to use it," he added.

Scrappy continued to back the gentlemen's agreement, arguing that it has been used effectively with the snipers, which played "horribly" in his opinion.

Should the pros ban omnimovement from Black Ops 6, that would be the end of it in Ranked, too, which will likely be quite a dagger to the developers who are already trying to support competitive through map design.
