Call of Duty: Warzone is officially landing on PC, PS4 and Xbox One tomorrow, March 10th, at 3pm GMT, 8am PT and 11am ET for Modern Warfare owners, with the game rolling out the global release for everyone a few hours later. Check out this image from Infinity Ward below;
The free-to-play Battle Royale will also feature a mode called Plunder and does not require Modern Warfare to play.
Check out the full details on the Activision blog, or read below for the TL:DR;
PLUNDER
Plunder is like Bounty Hunt from Titanfall 2. The race is on to collect the most in-match Cash by looting across the map, taking down enemies to steal their Cash, and completing in-match Contracts.
BATTLE ROYALE
Warzone’s BR pits squads against each other to be the last ones standing while escaping deadly gas in the quick-moving zone, with up to 150 players.
SETTING
Verdansk is the setting for Warzone, a massive city with several named zones and over 300 POIs.
VEHICLES
Warzone includes five different types of vehicles to use to flee the closing circle or move to another zone; an ATV, Tactical Rover, SUV, Cargo Truck or Helicopter.
The Mechanics: The Gulag (Battle Royale)
Warzone is dedicated to providing players with interesting and unique matches every time, allowing you to change up your strategies every game.
Upon your first elimination, you will be taken as a “Prisoner of Warzone” and thrown into the Gulag. There you will await your fate and watch other prisoners fight to the death. When your turn is up, you’ll enter the Gulag and face-off against a single opponent in a 1v1 to earn the ultimate reward - redeployment. Win in the Gulag and earn redeployment back into Verdansk. Lose and hope that your squad completes Contracts and earns enough in-match Cash to redeploy you.
Contracts
Multiple types of contracts (including Scavenger Contracts & Recon Contracts) can be found and activated all over Verdansk. A squad can activate one Contract at a time and completing it rewards you in-match Cash and other loot items.
As well as in-match Cash, Contracts can give you special abilities such as being able to see the next circle collapse location before it starts to close.
The trailer has also been released, giving eager fans a taste of the action-packed new game from Infinity Ward;
