Call of Duty is pumping all of its attention into the hype machine right now. Though there's a Halloween event peeking around the corner at us in Modern Warfare 2 and Warzone, fans are looking to one thing above all others - the launch of Modern Warfare 3, set to come before the year is out.
But, alongside this, there's another untapped market that Call of Duty is gunning for, taking notes from the franchise's overseas arrival on mobile to bring the hugely adored Warzone mode to players' pockets. But it looks like there's a slight snag in that plan.
Warzone Mobile has been delayed. Again
Though Call of Duty Next was compelling enough of a presentation to keep players engaged, there was one piece of news that seemed to slip through the cracks - and that's that Warzone's arrival on mobile will be a little more stunted than we'd hoped.
The presentation revealed that we should now expect the game to touch down in the Spring of 2024, as it is "exploring the option of adding more regions [in which the game is playable] before we release in Spring."
Though the clarity from the team is good, it's a shame that fans are once again bearing up under the frustrations of yet another delay from the game. They've been waiting long enough already - and this is just another irritation.
Warzone Mobile has dealt with many delays
The pushbacks that have plagued the mobile version of the game have been a huge point of frustration for players, especially as many of them got into the game years ago in their application to pre-register.
The game was squeezed back and expected to launch in 2023 after previous delays, and now, we know that we're going to have to wait even longer, pushing us into the throes of 2024.
Fans are frustrated, but they'd be angrier if they'd waited this long for the game to stink upon launch this year. Annoyingly, this is for the best, and we're going to have to accept it.
